The house that Bob built ...

Last weekend, Roxanne and I visited Salisbury NC which was our home for about four years (1987-1991). During that time, we lived in two homes -- one of which Bob built (pictured here with Roxanne -- well, Roxanne is in the picture with the house!) He designed the house and did much of the work himself. I loved the design and the built-in cabinets in my kitchen especially! Well, let's just say that it was indeed an awesome home.

Unfortunately, this was during a difficult time in our lives -- we were raising four teenaged daughters and along with other personal issues, I don't think I appreciated this home as much as I should have! In retrospect, I am in awe! I look at this photo and remember various things about it -- the roof, which was put on by Clarence LeBeau and his sons and was quite a challenge. Or the broken brick pavers on our porch! I remembered the layout of the house and our master suite - which was huge! Of course, that brought more memories -- like seeing Bob and Ed trying to wallpaper our master bath! There were times when I thought they would paper themselves before getting it onto the wall!! Sandi was married by the time we moved into this home but Roxanne and Kasi had their own bedroom and bath. Bob's office was located where the left two windows are -- our dining room where the right two windows are. Hard wood floors ... and all kinds of other things made this quite a home! I'd love to bring it to Florida but guess that wouldn't work! I do love our home here but also loved our home there -- and visiting it last weekend reminded me of the many talents of my guy ... the "Bob of all trades!"

I'm moving, too .... or rather, am in the process!

I have heard about "blogger" for quite a while so decided to make a move -- at least, partially. Have you ever tried to live in two places at once? A little unnerving? Yup ... but, we'll see what happens and if I don't get too crazy along the way, maybe I will make some sense during my move! We shall see!!
